Teachers
Andrea and Samantha started their yoga teacher training together in October 2015 and finished in June 2016. They were inspired by the new and innovative approach to yoga their training offered and decided to start a traveling Yoga studio together! Thus, ALCHEMY Yoga was born...
ANDREA
I'm a Rimbey native, currently living on a pretty country spot with my wonderful husband and three children. My relationship with yoga began shortly after our second child was born in 2006. It all started with a DVD purchased off of eBay, and since then I've loved it.
I have always had the passion to teach yoga, so after practicing for a couple of years on friends and relatives, the fall of 2015, I began a 300hr yoga teacher training with Heart and Bones Yoga and Sacred Seed Yoga & Ayverada out of Edmonton. It was during this training that my perspective of movement in the body was shifted. (i.e. how important mobility is in the body, because the body 'owns' the range of motion vs. flexibility, were an outside force helps get the muscles and other soft tissues into a stretched position, and as a result isn't functional in daily life.)
So I'm very excited to share with you my growing (..always learning new things!) understanding of different types of movement, as well as the traditional yoga poses. Integrating a variety of movement to greatly improve joint health, muscle strength, mobility, stability and awareness in your body. I look forward to meeting you and hope you get the chance to join me for a class sometime!
SAMANTHA
Yoga has always been a passion of mine but I felt there was something missing for me when I practiced it the "traditional" way. Since taking my teacher training and learning more about movement and the brain, joint health and mobility and how that applies to yoga postures, I feel I have found the missing piece! It is my now my pleasure to share with others my learning and help them incorporate strength, stability, variety of movement and a strong brain body connection.
